1893 World Fair Spoon

                        

 We found this 1893 World Fair spoon for $.10 cents at a garage sale in Barrington, IL on May 5th, 2014. We were out going estate sales to estate sale, and on the way we were drawn to an older home, that seemed to have a great place full of treasures. We decided to pull over and stop. As we began to look around this item stuck out to me. It was a spoon dated 1893. To us it seemed to be quite a bit different, so we decided to purchase the spoon.  The spoon turned out to be an 1893 - World's Fair Demitasse Spoon - Machinery Hall. This spoon is 121 years old and 400 years after Columbus founded America.  This is a very cool piece of history!!! On the back of the spoon is Standard.  The length of the spoon is 4 1/4 inches.
